Brookside Swim Lessons

Typically swim lessons are held in two sessions during the summer.  Each session lasts 8 days (Mon-Thurs for two weeks).   Lessons last 30 minutes and swimmers are placed into appropriate levels.

LEVEL DESCRIPTION:

Level 1 = Introduction to water safety skills.  Swimmers in this level are entirely supported at all times.

Level 2 = Water safety skills are reinforced.  Introduction to front crawl/freestyle techniques.  Swimmers in this level are supported throughout.

Level 3 = Competitive swimming strokes are introduced; most specifically freestyle and backstroke.  Fins are a benefit at this level. Swimmers will be completing widths of the pool often at this level.

Level 4 = Competitive swimming strokes are reinforced.  Additional competitive strokes of breaststroke/butterfly introduced as well as other racing techniques (diving, flipturns, etc). Swimmers will be swimming a full length of the pool regularly.

Level 5 = More detailed technical aspects of competitive swimming are taught at this level.
